What are Oral Disintegrating Tablets?
Oral disintegrating tablets (ODTs or fast-melts), have become a preferred oral dosage alternative to conventional tablets and capsules because they can dissolve quickly in the mouth in a matter of seconds, without the need for water. The convenience of ODTs, along with their superior taste and ease of swallowing, explain why more than half of individuals surveyed have expressed a preference for ODTs compared to other oral dosage forms.
The popularity of ODTs has created high market demand, and yet the existing formulation methods are finicky, and manufacturing processes tend to be slow and inefficient. The novel Vitaquest ODT delivery system has streamlined the formulation and development process, has significantly reduced production costs and times, and has helped us to demonstrate our ability to “lead the pack” in the competitive nutraceutical market.
This revolutionary one-step system is elegant in its simplicity. No special manufacturing equipment or expensive tooling are required. Simply add the active ingredients to the proprietary ODT base, then dry-blend and compress. The result is a uniform product with a smooth mouthfeel and a superior appearance and taste.
The innovation, lessons, and technology used to develop this new Oral Disintegrating Tablet Delivery System are not confined to ODTs alone.
