The Process We Follow to Manufacture Pet Supplements
Our pet supplement manufacturing process is extremely meticulous, as supplement quality, efficacy, and safety are at the forefront in each of these steps.
Blending
The first steps in the manufacturing process is to weigh and blend the powdered ingredients. The precise weighing of the component powders takes place in one of eight different pharmacy suites using calibrated scales to achieve accurate measurements. These powders are then blended in one of 16 different commercial blenders, including high-capacity ribbon and V-blenders, to achieve an appropriate uniformity of mix needed for accuracy of soft chew, chewable tablet or powdered serving.
Tablet Pressing
To accommodate a wide range of customer needs, Vitaquest maintains over 30 tablet presses, including the impressive Stokes Model 720. Double-sided and equipped with pre-compression, these heavy duty and extremely durable high speed tablet press machines are capable of producing up to 490,000 tablets per hour, including chewable tablets suitable for pets. Vitaquest’s lineup of versatile tablet machines also features Sejong tablet presses intended for precision manufacturing of high production volumes.
Testing
The finished delivery form undergoes a series of tests which may include heavy metals, microbiological, assays for ingredient identity, dissolution and more. This is part of the extensive quality control process that Vitaquest undertakes for all supplements manufactured at our facility.
