At Vitaquest, quality is fundamental to how we operate and how we serve our customers. As regulatory expectations evolve and the dietary supplement industry places greater emphasis on quality, transparency, and accountability, we continue to strengthen the systems that support our manufacturing operations.
Our approach is built around a straightforward philosophy: Be Audit-Ready Every Day.
For us, that means quality and compliance are not activities reserved for an upcoming audit or inspection. They are part of our everyday operations, supported by established processes, disciplined execution, continuous improvement, and a shared commitment across our organization.
Building Quality Into Our Manufacturing Operations
Vitaquest operates under established current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), with comprehensive quality systems designed to support ingredient verification, formulation integrity, manufacturing consistency, and finished product quality.
We have achieved USP Verification across all of our manufacturing sites, following extensive evaluation of our quality systems, manufacturing processes, and product controls. We also maintain certifications and standards that include NSF, FSSC 22000, and Health Canada requirements.
These external standards are important, but maintaining them requires consistent execution throughout our operations.
That includes ongoing investment in supplier qualification and raw material verification, process validation, packaging and labeling controls, quality monitoring systems, employee training, and compliance protocols.
We also maintain internal monitoring and review processes that help us identify opportunities for improvement and strengthen our systems over time.
Extending Quality Through Packaging
Quality does not stop when manufacturing is complete. Packaging plays an important role in protecting the finished product and maintaining its integrity through distribution and shelf life.
Our teams evaluate packaging based on factors such as formulation compatibility, stability requirements, and anticipated distribution conditions. We also apply standardized controls across packaging formats to support labeling accuracy, consistent fills, and finished product quality.
By considering manufacturing and packaging as interconnected parts of the product lifecycle, we can better support the quality and consistency our customers expect.
Investing in Advanced Capabilities
Continuous improvement also means investing in technologies and infrastructure that strengthen our ability to manufacture increasingly sophisticated dietary supplement products.
One example is our investment in enhanced microbiological testing technology, which has expanded our ability to efficiently evaluate products while maintaining rigorous quality standards.
We have also expanded our manufacturing infrastructure with a dedicated Probiotics Manufacturing Suite designed to provide greater environmental control when working with sensitive probiotic ingredients. The suite expands our capacity while supporting the precise handling and processing required for live cultures.
Investments like these reflect how we think about growth at Vitaquest. Expanding capacity is important, but it must be accompanied by the systems, technology, and controls necessary to maintain quality as we scale.
A Culture of Continuous Improvement
Being Audit-Ready Every Day requires more than procedures and certifications. It requires an organization-wide commitment to consistently following established processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and holding ourselves accountable.
As David Alcaraz, our SVP of Quality, explains:
“Ensuring product quality and compliance and doing the right thing are fundamental to who we are as an organization. We’re committed to continuously improving our systems so we can consistently deliver products that meet the highest standards and expectations.”
That commitment to continuous improvement will remain important as regulations, technologies, ingredients, and consumer expectations continue to evolve.
Quality Is a Shared Responsibility
As a contract manufacturer, we recognize the responsibility we have to the brands that entrust us with their products and, ultimately, to the consumers who use them.
We provide manufacturing, quality, testing, and packaging systems designed to support our customers throughout the product development and commercialization process. At the same time, regulatory compliance is a shared responsibility. Brand partners maintain important responsibilities related to areas such as label accuracy, claims substantiation, and market-specific regulatory requirements.
Close collaboration between manufacturer and brand owner helps ensure these responsibilities are understood and addressed throughout the product lifecycle.
As Vitaquest continues to grow, we will continue investing in our people, facilities, technologies, and quality systems. Our goal is not simply to meet expectations when an audit occurs. It is to operate every day with the discipline and accountability those expectations require.
That is what Audit Ready Every Day means at Vitaquest, and it remains an important part of how we are Delivering What’s Next for our customers.
